Each increment blends the Bear, Base and Bullish assumptions. Fractional rides and operating days represent daily and yearly averages. After an individual edit, the position compares annual cash divided by car and hardware cost with those presets. Actual results can fall outside the displayed range. Fleet size and display choices stay in place. This scale is not a probability or a promised return.

Average trips with a paying passenger on each operating day. Fractional values describe a daily average across the year.
Passenger fare per ride. Austin-reference mode adjusts this against the reference base and per-mile rates. The pricing selector and reference inputs remain below.
The assumed share of each fare kept by the network.
An assumed monthly commercial insurance cost per car.
Fare model
Flat reference charge per paid ride, before the percentage price adjustment. Defaults to $3 from the uploaded model.
Reference charge for each paid trip mile, before the percentage price adjustment. Defaults to $1.40 from the uploaded model. Empty miles do not earn fares.

Austin reference: $10.00 / ride. Your fare: $7.00 / ride. Rates come from the uploaded model and are editable.

Ride volume and utilization

Current model: 20 rides per operating day, $7.00 per ride. 15 days off per year. Each modeled trip cycle takes 20.8 minutes.

Depot, charging and running costs
Average earning days each year after downtime. Monthly fixed costs still apply for all 12 months.
Monthly parking and charging-space cost per car, separate from electricity and upfront equipment.
Monthly fee per car for a local operator who helps keep the fleet running.
Cleaning cost per operating day. Trip-based cleaning replaces this daily amount.
Maintenance cost for every mile driven, including empty miles. Avoid adding tire or detailing costs already covered here.
Electricity price per kilowatt-hour. Applied to total driving energy plus any charging overhead.
Extra miles as a percentage of paid miles, such as pickup and repositioning trips. They cost money without adding fares.
Distance of an average paid ride. Empty miles are added separately.

Empty miles are additional to paid miles. Monthly costs apply for all 12 months.

Energy, tires and extra costs
Kilowatt-hours used per mile of driving. Applies to paid and empty miles, before charging overhead.
Extra grid energy above driving energy, such as charging losses. Adds to electricity costs.
Additional tire-set replacement cost. Leave at zero if your maintenance budget already includes tires.
Total miles between tire replacements. Affects costs only when an extra tire replacement cost is set.
Additional road tax for every mile driven, including empty miles.
Monthly connectivity cost per car. Leave at zero if the operator or network fee already covers it.
Extra monthly detailing cost per car, beyond the cleaning and maintenance budgets.

Energy overhead adds grid energy on top of vehicle use. Tires, road tax, connectivity and detailing default to zero; add them only if your existing maintenance/operator costs exclude them.

Trip-based cleaning replaces the daily cleaning cost. It is an expense, charged at a steady average frequency.

Purchase and income tax
Purchase price of one car, before charging hardware. Sets purchase payback and the amount available to finance. Operating costs are modeled separately.
Charging equipment paid upfront per car. Added to car cost and initial cash, and excluded from the vehicle loan.
Illustrative tax on positive operating surplus after loan interest. Principal is not deductible; tax deductions and depreciation are not modeled.

Cash purchase and no tax by default. Hardware is paid upfront. Illustrative tax applies only to positive operating surplus after loan interest; principal is not deducted. Tax rules and depreciation deductions are not modeled.

Vehicle life and future costs
Total driving miles before retirement, including empty miles. More miles extend the earning lifetime, not yearly revenue. The five-year forecast stops rides if retirement falls within that window. Select Lifetime to see all earning years plus resale.
Defaults to $0 rather than assuming a future sale price. Added once at retirement in lifetime totals and the forecast, never to monthly or yearly earnings. Any remaining loan balance is paid off at retirement.
Annual increase in operating costs in the five-year and lifetime forecasts. Fares stay constant; the first-year result is unchanged. This is separate from the inflation rate used to show today's dollars.

At these miles: 10.2 years of vehicle life, $2,940 average annual car-value consumption. A longer life adds earning years, not yearly revenue. Car-value consumption is a noncash amount, separate from the remainder. Cost growth affects lifetime totals, not the first-year result.

Loans
Percentage of the car price paid upfront. The rest is financed; 100% models a cash purchase.
Months over which the car loan is repaid. Forecast payments stop when the loan is paid off.
Annual loan interest rate, amortized monthly. Zero models an interest-free loan.

100% down means a cash purchase. Lower it to finance the remainder of the car price. Loan payment: $0/mo per car. Hardware is paid upfront; loan payments stop at maturity.

Inflation adjustment
When Today's dollars is selected, future monthly cash and resale are divided by (1 + this annual rate) raised to their time in years. Upfront costs are already in today's dollars. This changes purchasing power, not fares or operating cost growth. Applies to lifetime totals and the five-year chart.

Today's dollars adjusts lifetime totals. Select Lifetime to see it in the headline. Yearly and monthly figures show the first year. Operating cost growth has its own slider.

This calculator is informational and is not an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security. All inputs are illustrative estimates. No official Tesla fleet contract is assumed. Simple payback divides car and hardware cost by annual operating surplus before financing and tax, assuming constant earnings. Annual cash/car cost is first-year cash left over divided by the full car and hardware price; it is not a total investment return. Depreciation is shown separately. Fleet depot discounts are editable assumptions. Ramp-up, tax deductions and other fleet economies of scale are excluded. Not a projection of returns or investment advice.
